This is all about God, prayer, community, music, art, poetry, theology, love and all sorts of things people run into on their life journey, especially when the second half of life is looming ahead. It is inspired by Fr Richard Rohr, by the Contemplative Outreach of Fr Thomas Keating, by C.G. Jung, by C.S. Lewis, Alan Watts, St Beuno's retreat house and all the communities I have a privilege to belong to. It is dedicated to and I hope will be used by my nearest and dearest, scattered all over the planet, and who are falling upwards with me.

Falling Upwards as a Sport, or Taste the Space
Not covered by your insurance. Up you go, up, up, up! Careful there! Hoist sail and breath in, out, in, out! You'd better be light and winds-wise, and have a solid grip.
It seems great fun. If ever a sport could demonstrate the principal of Falling Upwards this one would seem to fit the concept. So less intellectual analysis over a Leffe in a Parisien cafe and more listening to the scream of the wind through your ears and the upward lift of a new weightless reality;-)
But of course it is fun! Just a bit scary. We poor theoreticians often think we are not Fit to Fly, so we keep to the safety of intellectual battles; but just show us a screaming wind and an upward lift - wheou! Personally I find it difficult to focus on anything else at the moment :))
Sporty or not, I think I want to run a 10K race – that would be fun too… Something like this – sounds realistic even for me. http://www.sportpassionorganisation.com/courses/planetjogging/course.php
I am about to try this off my verandah - and insurance! Pah! The very idea....
ReplyDeleteIs this you, Marianna? I didn't think you were so sporty.
Me?? Doing THAT?! Euh, non non non! The very idea, as you say...
